The remake also stars four -time Tony Award nominee Billy Crudup (Big Fish, Alien: Covenant) as Oscar, Abby Quinn (Little Women) as Grace, and Will Chase (Nashville) as Frank.
Writer and director Bart Freundlich (Wolves, The Rebound) has reimagined the film with the two lead roles as women in order to create a story of motherhood and family. After the Wedding takes place in and around New York.
The film is produced by Joel Michaels (Terminator Salvation) and Silvio Muraglia (Black Butterfly) through Paradox Studios, which had also financed the project.
After the Wedding had its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in January.
