Persona Trailer: First Look at Netflix’s New Korean Film Series

Netflix has released the official trailer for their newest Korean anthology film series titled Persona, featuring popular K-Pop singer-songwriter Lee Ji-eun, better known as IU, portraying four different characters. The film series is composed of four short films which will be available for streaming on April 5, exclusively on Netflix. Check out the video below!

Directed by four critically-acclaimed directors Lee Kyung-mi, Im Pil-sung, Jeon Go-woon and Kim Jong-kwan, Persona will follow the story of four different characters which will all be portrayed by IU. Each story will be told through the directors’ unique storytelling.

The four short films are titled Love Set, Collector, Kiss Burn and Walking at Night and their official synopses are described as follows:

 Love Set – directed by Lee Kyung-mi, tells a story of two ladies’ heated tennis play.

Collector – directed by Im Pil-sung, Lee plays an utterly attractive young woman who makes every man she dates pour their hearts out to her.

Kiss Burn – directed by Jeon Go-woon, is about a girl’s cheeky revenge against her friend’s patriarchal father.

Walking at Night –  directed by Kim Jong-kwan, shines light on a couple’s innermost feelings during their dreamlike rendezvous.

Bae Doona (Sense8, Kingdom) and Park Hae-soo (Prison Playbook)  are also expected to appear in the film series along with Lee Sung-wook, Shim Dal-gi, and Jung Jun Won. Singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin’s Mystic Entertainment is producing the anthology with Yoon serving as its executive producer.

IU is not only known for her hit songs like Dreaming, Good Day, Twenty-three, Palette and BBIBBI but she also had gained recognition through her dramatic roles in many Korean drama series such as Dream High, The Producers, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and My Mister.

Persona will be IU’s feature film debut.
