Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die 4K Review: Sam Rockwell’s Time Travel Movie Is a Blast

Gore Verbinski’s sci-fi action comedy movie Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is now available on 4K, and it’s a blast. Starring Sam Rockwell, the film features a time-traveling man trying to lead a ragtag group of people at a diner on a misadventure to save the world. It’s inherently goofy, but it’s equally inventive.

“A man claiming to be from the future recruits an unlikely group of diner patrons to join him on a genre-defying adventure to save humanity from the perils of social media brainrot and the impending AI apocalypse Gonzo mayhem and eye-popping action ensues! 4K Release features Atmos Audio,” says the official description.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is one of my favorite films of 2026 so far. Verbinski goes extremely dark in several areas, having no issue using school shootings as a launching point for some of the film’s funniest sequences, and there are some great action-comedy set pieces as well. Featuring some flashback sequences that give you all the backstory on its ensemble cast, the time-travel movie comes together to offer a highly memorable adventure. It’s also bolstered by great performances from Rockwell, Zazie Beetz, Michael Pena, Haley Lu Richardson, and Juno Temple.

The Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die 4K release features Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, so you’re getting top-notch visuals and sound. The transfer looks incredible, as you can really make out the details in the dark thanks to Dolby Vision, which is helpful since the film primarily takes place at night. It also sounds great, as the sound mix enhances this wild action movie.

Sadly, the one downside to the Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die 4K release is the lack of bonus features. The only extra included is a five-minute featurette. It’s a basic behind-the-scenes look that never goes below the surface to anything interesting. It’s a shame there’s not a commentary track as I’d love to see Verbinski discuss the film at length.
