The very first teaser image from director Matt Reeves’ upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has come online along with a tagline, “Evolution becomes revolution.” You can check it out below, courtesy of the film’s official Facebook page.
The first film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was directed by Rupert Wyatt and earned an impressive $481.8 million worldwide on a budget of $93 million. The August 5, 2011 release starred James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and Andy Serkis.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set for a Memorial Day 2014 release. Scott Z. Burns, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are providing the screenplay. Returning producers include Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
