Noomi Rapace has been cast in Angel of Mine from the writer of Lion
Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Bright) has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming film Angel of Mine, according to Deadline. The film is a psychological drama based on the 2008 French film, L’Empreinte de L’Ange, and will be directed by Kim Farrant (Strangerland, Rush). The script comes to us from Academy Award nominee Luke Davies (Lion) and David Regal.
Angel of Mine is the story of Lizzie (Rapace), who is a mother whose daughter died years before. She becomes convinced that the daughter of a stranger is actually her daughter. She becomes obsessed with the girl and loses touch with reality.
Angel of Mine was developed by Garlin Pictures with Screen Australia and SixtyFourSixty. Josh Etting and Su Armstrong will produce, while Davies will executive produce with Fortitude International’s Nadine de Barros and Robert Ogden. Angel of Mine will begin production in April.
Rapace is known for playing the lead role of Lizbeth Salander in the 2009 film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Elizabeth Shaw in Prometheus, Madam Simza Heron in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and the elf Leilah in the Netflix movie Bright opposite Will Smith and Joel Edgerton.
