Lamb Trailer Previews A24’s Noomi Rapace-Led Supernatural Drama

A24 has released the official Lamb trailer for Valdimar Jóhannsson’s upcoming feature directorial debut, starring Noomi Rapace.  Just like its first teaser, the new video continues to tease the film’s dark and bizarre tones that will most likely center around parenthood.  The trailer comes after the supernatural horror drama just recently had its world premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The film is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on Thursday, October 8.

Lamb centers around a childless couple in rural Iceland who make an alarming discovery one day in their sheep barn. They soon face the consequences of defying the will of nature, in this dark and atmospheric folktale, the striking debut feature from director Valdimar Jóhannsson.

The film is being led by Noomi Rapace along with Icelandic actors Hilmir Snaer Gu∂nason and Björn Hlynur Haraldsson. Before it made its debut at Cannes, the film’s U.S. distribution rights were successfully acquired by A24.

Lamb is directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson from a screenplay he co-wrote with Icelandic author Sjón. It is produced by Hrönn Kristinsdóttir, Sara Nassim, Piodor Gustafsson, Erik Rydell, Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska, Jan Naszewski, Chimney Sweden and Chimney Poland, in association with Rabbit Hole Prods.

Rapace’s notable film credits include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Prometheus, Passion, Child 44, Bright, What Happened to Monday, Angel of Mine, Close, and The Secrets We Keep.
