Jon Hamm (Mad Men) has just been cast in the upcoming Tag film, according to Deadline. He’ll join Jeremy Renner (The Hurt LockerCaptain America: Civil War), Ed Helms (The HangoverThe Office), Jake Johnson (New GirlJurassic World), Hannibal Buress (The Eric Andre ShowThe Secret Life of Pets), Rashida Jones (The Office) and Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy) in the film directed by Jeff Tomsic (This is Not HappeningI’m Having a Difficult Time Killing My Parents). The script was written by Mark Steilen and Rob McKitrrick.

The Tag film from New Line comedy is based on a true story a group of friends who have been playing a hardcore game of tag for the last 30 years. The story was featured in a Wall Street Journal feature back in 2013. In “Tag Brothers,” we learned about 10 class mates from Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, WA. 23 years after school, they played the game, secretly entering each other’s homes and scheduling their vacations around the game. Renner and Buress will reportedly play part of the gang. Hamm will play “an overachiever, both in high school and in life, who is now a successful businessman.”

The Tag film will be produced by Tod Garner, Steilen and Sean Robbins.

Jon Hamm is known for his work in the TV series Mad Men, winning both a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for playing the role of Don Draper. He’s also been seen in The Town and the TV series 30 Rock. He’ll appear next in Baby Driver from writer/director Edgar Wright.
