Sacha Baron Cohen has filmed a new Ali G movie entirely in secret. The filmmaker and actor was previously reported as wanting to revive the Ali G character in a film over three years ago.
What do we know about Sacha Baron Cohen’s secret Ali G movie?
According to a report from Jeff Sneider (via The Insneider), Cohen has already finished filming the project. It’s unclear whether the film already has a home or is being shopped to buyers. According to several reports, Cohen was allegedly spotted in England last year as Ali G. However, Sneider also claimed that the movie would spend some time in America.
Ali G, short for Alistair Leslie Graham, was conceived and performed by Cohen on The 11 O’Clock Show in 1998. The character has since appeared in various places, including leading the Da Ali G Show, and was last seen in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. The secret Ali G film won’t be the first time that the character has appeared in his own film, as the character previously led 2002’s Ali G Indahouse.

Following those appearances, Cohen revived the character during a secret show at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia. Ali G is just one of Cohen’s many iconic characters, including Borat and Bruno, and Cohen has interviewed many famous personalities, including Donald Trump, David Beckham, Buzz Aldrin, and more.
Besides appearing in comedies, Cohen has also dipped his toes into comic book media with Marvel’s Ironheart, where he played Mephisto. The actor said in a recent interview that he would like to reprise the role of Mephisto before appearing on screen again as Borat. Most recently, Cohen starred in Ladies First, a comedy film that became a smash hit on Netflix.
The untitled Ali G film currently doesn’t have a publicly disclosed release date.
