Tom McCarthy Takes Home Movies

Tom McCarthy has come aboard the DreamWorks family comedy Home Movies, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, originally set up with Jared Stern (Bolt, Mr. Popper’s Penguins) writing, involves a man who, through the use of home movies, is able to return to and change elements of his past.

McCarthy, who most recently wrote and directed Win Win, began his career as an actor, but has recently been working behind the camera, also writing/directing The Station Agent and The Visitor. Though Home Movies does not have a director attached at this time, McCarthy is said to involved, at least for now, solely as a writer.
