Famke Janssen is now locked for a part in the upcoming Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Playlist is reporting.
Janssen, best known her role as Jean Grey in the first three X-Men films, will appear opposite Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner in the fantasy thriller. Set 15 years after the Grimm’s Fairy Tale siblings incident at the gingerbread house, the film finds Hansel and Gretel working as bounty hunters, tracking down supernatural beings.
From Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is expected to go into production soon for an unspecified release.
UPDATE: Deadline adds that Janssen will play the leader of the witches in the film.
