Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs co-writers/directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are in talks with Walt Disney Pictures to develop and direct the comedy Bob the Musical.
They are also scheduled to direct Sony’s 21 Jump Street, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. That is expected to start in the spring, so Bob the Musical would presumably follow.
“Bob” centers on a mild-mannered man who suddenly hears the ‘inner song’ of people’s hearts after being struck on the head. Marc Shaiman is writing the music and lyrics.
Lord and Miller plan to bring on a new writer to do more work on the script.
