Vulture is reporting that “Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi and District 9 producer Bill Block are in negotiations with Warner Bros. to set up a new movie called EDF, which stands for “Earth Defense Force.” Raimi is not expected to direct.
The film is reportedly based on a script by Air Force One screenwriter and “Castle” executive producer Andrew Marlowe. Block’s QED International (District 9) is co-financing the project.
The movie is said to open with an alien attack to test our defenses and a more massive attack coming in 10 months. Before then, world leaders have to figure out how to fight off the coming invasion.
