Vladimir Mashkov has joined the cast of the fourth Mission: Impossible film, reports The Wrap.
Mashkov has appeared in dozens of Russian films, including 2004’s Papa, which he also wrote and directed, but remains best known to Western audience for his 2001 role in Behind Enemy Lines, playing a Russian assassin opposite Owen Wilson.
The current line up for the Brad Bird film includes Tom Cruise (returning as Ethan Hunt), Ving Rhames (returning as Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (returning as Benji Dunn) and newcomers to the franchise Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton.
Mission: Impossible is in production now and planned for release December 16, 2011.
