James Cameron’s True Lies Series Goes to ABC

James Cameron’s TV adaptation of his 1994 hit True Lies has landed at ABC.

Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV are producing with Rene Echevarria (“The 4400”) as writer/showrunner and co-executive producer. Cameron will produce the series.

The original film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, an everyday man leading a double life as a top-level spy. When he learns that his unknowing wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) is unsatisfied with the banality of their life together and, as a result, is planning on having an affair, Tasker accidentally pulls her into his secret battle against Middle Eastern terrorists.

Cameron has previously developed and produced “Dark Angel,” and also took the director’s chair for the series finale.
