Robbie Amell and Rachael Taylor to star in Netflix movie
Though known for supporting roles in their respective superhero TV shows, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Rachael Taylor (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) have signed on to star in ARQ, a sci-fi thriller set to be released on Netflix.
ARQ is described as “a post-apocalyptic thriller set in the near future when the oil supply has run dry. Trapped in a house and surrounded by a gang of mysterious masked intruders, an engineer (Amell) must protect a technology that could deliver unlimited energy and end the wars that have consumed the world. The only problem is that the technology has created a time loop that condemns him and his friends all to relive the same day over and over.”
Lost City and XYZ Films will produce the film, which is written and directed by Tony Elliott (Orphan Black). Production is set to begin in Toronto this winter. Netflix has obtained exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the film.
Amell can next be seen in both the revival of The X-Files in addition to another guest spot on The Flash. Taylor’s next feature work includes the film Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
