What I Watched, What You Watched #308

Slower than normal for me this week. For someone that runs a movie website seeing only two movies seems a bit troublesome as I caught Straight Outta Compton on Tuesday and, other than that, I took my wife to see Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation on Friday night.

I rewatched a couple episodes of “The Knick” the past couple nights, as it recently hit Blu-ray, but, just like when they were sending me review copies of the first season as it aired, I can’t get into this show. It’s so damned dark and monotone I don’t feel any life coming off of it. Everything plays like a choice for a tonal affectation rather than something to build character or forward the plot. Great production design though… kudos on that front.

Otherwise, I’m tapped out and this week I have to make the decision to see Hitman: Agent 47 or American Ultra as they are playing at the exact same time… intentional of course as the studios are hoping for fewer reviews of each… set your expectations accordingly. Speaking of expectations, I haven’t been invited to see Sinister 2… yikes.
