‘Star Trek 3’ Title Confirmed, First Photo from Set Revealed

At one point it was thought Star Trek 3 would be titled Star Trek Forever, but then Star Trek Beyond become the go-to title for the upcoming film and today director Justin Lin took to Twitter to confirm the title and release the first set picture from the now-shooting sequel.

“Let the next Starfleet voyage begin,” posted Lin in his tweet along with a Starfleet patch. One could assume a lot from this as it most likely (and hopefully I might add) means we will officially begin the iconic five-year mission of the starship Enterprise to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations and boldly go where no man has gone before. Enough of Earth already, let’s keep things moving in space shall we?

Star Trek Beyond is set for a July 8, 2016 release. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin and John Cho return along with newcomers Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella playing currently undisclosed roles. Check out Lin’s tweet below.
