I didn’t watch the watched it, and I’ve avoided it ever since learning it was so spoilery, I have no idea if what this new poster for the film is selling is that spoiler, but it definitely tells us John Connor (Jason Clarke) is not a man, but a machine in this new installment in the Terminator franchise.
Or, wait, is this just part of the fractured timeline the official synopsis is talking about?
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
So, maybe Connor is a machine in one timeline and still a human fighting to save the world in the primary timeline or… what?
Either way, this is looking more and more like an absolute mess, though we won’t entirely know until July 1. The new (and possible spoilery) poster is below.
