For people of my generation Ernie Hudson will always be remembered as a member of the Ghostbusters. Of course, he’s had a lengthy post-Ghostbusters career and even calls his role as Winston Zeddemore the “most painful” part of his career. Now, perhaps a whole new generation of moviegoers will see him as a different character as Latino-Review.com’s Umberto Gonzalez reports Hudson “is circling the role of King T’Chaka ruler of Wakanda and father of Chadwick Boseman‘s T’Challa” in Marvel’s Black Panther.
We already know Boseman will make his first appearance as T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War and keeping the Black Panther ties alive, Andy Serkis is playing Ulysses Klaw in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Klaw, in comics lore, is responsible for murdering King T’Chaka, which could serve as a through-line for these films, tying them all together.

However, with Civil War not until 2016 and Black Panther not until 2018, we have quite a while to wait and find out.
Meanwhile, over at Fox they have their own Marvel movie in the works as we speak as snapshots from the set of Deadpool have been finding their way online over the last couple days. One such picture is at the bottom of this post, but another comes courtesy of co-star Ed Skrein (The Transporter Refueled) who confirms he’s playing the film’s villain, Ajax. You can find out more about the character here.
Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
