I probably get too much pleasure out of perfect recreations of 1980s/90s action figure commercials. The most recent example I can think of is the “G.I. Jeff” commercials in season five of “Community“, which were perfectly executed. Well, the most recent Best Picture winner, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), has been given the treatment to its titular hero.
The commercial, which you can watch below, features everything you can remember from those TV spots. My favorite moment comes when they test out the voice feature and it, of course, let’s out the line “Smells like balls.” That line in this cheery situation is quite funny.
Yes, it is a silly video, and I do not even know if the action figure is actually available. But like with the fake the best film of 2014 after all.
