Watch: ‘Gone Girl’ Visual Effects Reel

Art Temple Hollywood has released a visual effects reel for David Fincher‘s Gone Girl. Now, for some of you this may not seem like in immediately obvious film for exploring visual effects, but for those of you that have seen the visual effects reels for the likes of Zodiac and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (both of which are included below) and even last year’s The Wolf of Wall Street (also included below), you know it’s not only superhero movies that are taking advantage of effects, albeit not entirely in the same way.

[amz asin=”B00Q5996EQ” size=”small”]In the case of Gone Girl, it’s largely background effects in the form of green screen removal as well as altering the characters’ surroundings, even if they are just subtle changes. This is pretty typical stuff, but I always find these effects reels more fascinating than those such as the one I posted this morning featuring ILM’s work on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Not that one is necessarily better than the other, but the work done in what I consider to be more of a “real world” scenario is a little more interesting than the superhero one… if that makes any sense.

Check out the Gone Girl reel below along with the others I mentioned.
