Zack Snyder Slow Down

If there’s one thing Zack Snyder does well, it’s his use of slow motion. I still recall that moment in Watchmen where Malin Ackerman spins away from a massive explosion, her hair shielding her face (see it here). Oddly enough, that moment isn’t included in Jaume R. Lloret’s look at Snyder’s use of slow motion in Watchmen, 300, Legend of the Guardians and Sucker Punch in the video below. The omission of Man of Steel and Dawn of the Dead has me trying to recall if Snyder used his standard slow motion for such dramatic effect in those films? I can’t remember.

I’m sure Snyder wasn’t the first to use this slow motion in such a way, but I know every time I see a film attempting to do it I immediately think of Snyder as it’s sort of his visual signature, but will he drop it even further for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. I feel I he tried to evolve a little with Man of Steel. Perhaps he’ll reach even further this time around?
