Gunn Still Finalizing ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ End Credits Scene, Plus New Clip

I’m seeing Guardians of the Galaxy tonight and it’s nice to know ahead of time that I won’t have to wade through the endless list of digital artists that worked on the film (after all, I have the film’s credits on my hard drive) since the post credits scene for the film is not yet completed and won’t be attached to my screening just as it hasn’t been attached to any of the screenings so far.

Director James Gunn spoke with Total Film about the sequence. Previously he’s noted that it won’t be setting up any future films, but will instead “add a new element to [Marvel’s Cinematic Universe]”:

“Oh we have a post-credit sequence for you! Oh, do we ever! Yes, well we are connected, first of all we are connected…because of certain characters…but we have a post-credit sequence that’s all our own! That in all honestly we have just been doing the past few days so I think it’s going to be a great deal of fun for people.

“You don’t even want to know what it is! Pure joy, pure joy, that’s two words!”

The scene will be attached to showings of the film when Guardians of the Galaxy opens on August 1, now here’s a new clip from the movie.
