The above picture from Sony’s Pixels was released earlier, but in a low resolution form, now the studio has made the pic available in high resolution as it features Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad) and Eddie Plant (Peter Dinklage and his mullet) in the upcoming film based on the animated short directed by Patrick Jean (watch it here).
Here’s the synopsis:
When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend (Sandler), ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner, now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders to defeat the aliens and save the planet.
It was also recently revealed the film will feature a number of iconic video game characters including PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Centipede®, Galaga, Frogger, Q*bert, and Space Invaders. I’m sure more will be revealed at Comic Con this week, but the film hits theaters on May 5, 2015.
Secondly, Sony has released a batch of images from their upcoming R.L. Stine adaptation, Goosebumps starring Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Ken Marino and Ella Wahlestedt.
The film is directed by Rob Letterman and hits theaters on August 7, 2015:
In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
