Darabont Eyes ‘Snow White and the Hunstman 2’ and McNairy Joins ‘Batman v. Superman’

Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) is in talks to direct Snow White and the Huntsman 2, reportedly beating out Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) and Andy Muschietti (Mama). Additional word is Kristen Stewart is not expected to return as Snow White, though she may have a small cameo appearance. Darabont’s take on the story apparently focuses on Chris Hemsworth as the titular Huntsman. [The Wrap]

Scoot McNairy (The Rover) is joining Zack Snyder‘s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in an unspecified role. [Deadline]

Benjamin Bratt is set to join Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in Ride Along 2 for Universal with Tim Story (Think Like a Man Too) returning to direct. In typical sequel fashion, the story will move to a sunny locale, this time Miami where I’m sure Cube and Hart will get involved with some drug lord or something. The film hits theaters January 15, 2016. [Variety]
