The Weinstein Co. has released eight character posters for their upcoming young adult adaptation The Giver, directed by Phillip Noyce (Dead Calm) and set for release on August 15.
The film is an adaptation of Lois Lowry‘s 1994 Newbery Medal winning novel and centers on Jonas (Brenton Thwaites), who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment. Not until he is given his life assignment as the Receiver of Memory does he begin to understand the dark, complex secrets behind his fragile community. Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd, Taylor Swift and Katie Holmes co-star.
