Oscar Isaac Rumored for ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’, Harrison Ford Said to Have ‘Gigantic’ Role

Rumors surrounding Star Wars: Episode VII casting are flying fast and furious as the likes of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have been seen in London, where it’s said the first official table read with the assembled cast is rumored to be taking place.

This, of course, is all ahead of what is widely assumed to be the official casting announcement this coming May 4th (aka “Star Wars Day”), though it is said Disney is holding off announcing the title of the new film until Comic Con in July. Should these supposed announcements hold true, I’d think some sort of teaser or something special would be reserved for D23 in August, but right now it’s all speculation.

However, Deadline is the source of the rumor in the headline, saying Oscar Isaac is in line for a major role, as is his Inside Llewyn Davis co-star Adam Driver as well as Attack the Block‘s John Boyega, both of which have been mentioned previously, Driver largely assumed to have a role as one of the film’s villains for some time now.

As for that Isaac rumor, Borys Kit from The Hollywood Reporter sent out a tweet saying Isaac was “in negotiations” but negotiations stalled “because of a conflict with theatre commitments.” So, again, rumors come and go, hard to tell which ones will stick.

Additionally, the site reports Harrison Ford will have a “gigantic role” as Han Solo in the first of the next three films, but that’s as far as the rumor goes.
