Warner Bros. has released the above first picture from The Judge, a new film from David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) starring Robert Downey Jr. as big city lawyer Hank Palmer who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Robert Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
The film co-stars a fleet of names including Vera Farmiga, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dax Shepard, Leighton Meester, Melissa Leo, Billy Bob Thornton, Balthazar Getty, David Krumholtz, Grace Zabriskie and Denis O’Hare and is set for an October 10, 2014 release.
I didn’t even know this movie existed until receiving the picture. I guess it sounds interesting enough, that is one hell of a cast and it might be interesting to see Dobkin tackle something that isn’t a flat-out comedy. In fact, it doesn’t sound like it’s a comedy at all.
