Posters for a couple of upcoming children’s films have arrived in a first look at the artwork for Disney’s sequel to The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted (3/21) and for the recently delayed Pixar feature The Good Dinosaur (11/25/15).
With The Good Dinosaur, original director Bob Peterson (Up) was removed from the project and has yet to be officially replaced. As for the plot, it seems the story was a big issue and may be reworked so there’s no telling just how much will change. I doubt, however, the question at the center of it all will change, which is: What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? We’ll find out in two years.
The Muppets 2, however, is on track for its March release date and already has a trailer. The film adds Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey to the mix and takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine — the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit — and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two (Gervais). Ray Liotta, Tom Hiddleston and Christoph Waltz will also be seen in the film.
