Cameron Crowe’s Latest Adds Bill Murray

Bill Murray is the latest to join the impressive ensemble currently building for what is currently being called the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project, but has also been referred to as Volcano Romance in some circles.

The adventure-based rom-com will be directed by Cameron Crowe from an old script of his, which was once titled Deep Tiki and is said to be in the same vein as Crowe’s Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous. Murray joins Bradley Cooper who plays a disgraced US weapons consultant, deployed to a dormant military base in Hawaii to supervise the launch of an advanced spy satellite. Together with the anal and humorless Major Lisa Ng (Emma Stone), he must secure the blessings of the native Hawaiian council before the launch. Gilcrest also gets a chance to meet with Tracy (Rachel McAdams), the one love of his life who got away, along with her husband and two kids. On the island he discovers himself.

Additional members of the cast include Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin, Edi Gathegi and Jay Baruchel as Cooper’s character’s stepbrother. [The Wrap]
