Frasier Joins ‘The Expendables 3’

Maybe you can explain this to me, but apparently Kelsey Grammer has been cast in the role previously offered Nicolas Cage in The Expendables 3. Word from Deadline.com is Grammer will play a character by the name of Bonaparte, described as an ex-convict who will be joining Sylvester Stallone‘s Barney Ross and fellow mercenaries, which include Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li and Randy Couture.

Additional cast members include Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Ronda Rousey and Victor Ortiz, the majority of which I assume are on the side of the good guys, while, obviously Gibson plays the bad guy. Here’s the official synopsis:

In The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

The Expendables 3 is set for an August 15, 2014 release.

Here’s a look at how I hope Grammer will play the role:
