Director Fred Schepisi‘s The Eye of the Storm was long pegged as a potential Oscar contender, but eventually went overlooked completely and now he’s back this year with a new romantic dramedy, Words and Pictures, set to premiere at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival.
The film stars Clive Owen as a writer whose talent has dried up and Juliette Binoche as an artist struggling to paint. The two clash at the school where they teach, sparking both an unlikely romance and a school-wide war: which is more powerful, the word or the picture?
Schepisi is directing from a script by Gerald Di Pego whose screenplays include Message in a Bottle and The Forgotten.
