My interest in The Hobbit: A Long and Tireless Journey was muted prior to release and after seeing it my interest in the second film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is almost non-existent, but I know several of you are really looking forward to it so for you, here is the first poster for The Hobbit 2 and it looks like Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and the gang may actually make it to Smaug’s lair in this one. Oh boy!
In addition to the poster, you can expect the first trailer this Tuesday, June 11 at 10 AM PST and, of course, I will have it for you. In addition to the online premiere, the trailer will also be shown in front of Man of Steel this weekend.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
