Cannes 2013 Snaps: Carlton Goes ‘Gatsby’ and an Overcast Palais

I took the following two panorama shots and the shot of the Palais above yesterday during overcast weather and I know I can do better (you’ll see the flaws in the second one below), but I wanted to be sure to share a little something as I head out right now to hopefully capture a few more quality images to share.

I’m going to try and catch my first ever press conference here at Cannes in the four years I’ve covered as most press are catching The Great Gatsby right now so I’ll get in line early and hopefully have a great seat to see what Baz Luhrmann, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and others have to say. Hopefully I can even get a question in as I’m curious to know if Baz ever attempted to script the film without Tobey Maguire‘s narration.

As for the pics, the first is obviously the Palais des Festivals with its 2013 promo images of Paul Newman and Ingrid Bergman. The second is a Gatsby enshrined Carlton Hotel. You can click both images below for higher resolution peeks.

Additionally, you can see my 2013 Cannes schedule right here and I’ll be continually updating it as I go along.
