Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and newcomer Evan Bird have joined the cast of David Cronenberg‘s upcoming thriller Maps to the Stars with production scheduled to kick off in July in Toronto and Los Angeles and sales to launch in Cannes next week.
The trio join Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Sarah Gadon and Robert Pattinson in the thriller which is described as a ghost story that also doubles as a commentary on celebrity culture in Los Angeles. Bird will play the drug-addicted child star Benjie alongside Williams as his manipulative mother Cristina and Wasikowska as Benjie’s disfigured, schizophrenic, fame-obsessed sister Agatha.
