It feels like I haven’t left Cannes yet as I’ve come home to the prospect of four screenings in three days. Tonight’s screening is Louis Leterrier‘s Now You See Me, which looks like something of a magician’s version of the Robin Hood tale as a group of illusionists pull off a series of heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, showering the stolen profits on their audiences.
The cast includes Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Mélanie Laurent, Woody Harrelson, Common and Michael Caine and it hits theaters this Friday, May 31.
Just below is the first four minutes of the film if you’re interested. Personally I’m actually looking forward to seeing this one as a satisfying distraction. Is that too much to hope for?
