‘Jane Got a Gun’ is One Big ‘Star Wars’ Reunion

It would seem Jane Got a Gun is becoming an unintentional Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace reunion. First Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton and now Ewan McGregor has been called in to replace Bradley Cooper who had to bow out recently, citing production conflicts with the now-filming David O. Russell picture American Hustle.

The production has suffered several setbacks, which began with director Lynne Ramsay‘s departure on the first day of shooting along with actor exits including Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Cooper.

McGregor steps into the western where he’ll play the leader of a gang that comes to kill a man (Noah Emmerich) who returns home to his wife (Portman) riddled with bullet wounds and barely alive. She is ultimately forced to reach out to an ex-lover (Edgerton) and ask if he will help defend her farm. [Deadline]
