Sony has already set a June 6, 2014 release date for 21 Jump Street 2 with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum set to return for directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth) writing the script.
Now, THR reports Sony is putting Uziel to work on another sequel for the studio, Men in Black 4, which is in the early stages of development with now clear decision on whether or not Will Smith will be involved or to what extent.
Uziel is currently working on the 21 Jump Street sequel from an early draft written by Hill and Michael Bacall with an expectation to move to Men in Black 4 afterward.
Uziel originally found his way into Sony’s hands via the genre mash-up of his they acquired, The Kitchen Sink, which sees a pair of teens form an unlikely alliance with vampires and zombies in order to take on a army of invading aliens. Robbie Pickering (Prom Night) is currently set to direct for a 2014 release.
