After 140 consecutive installments, last week I completely forgot to do my weekly “What I Watched” column. I guess it wasn’t too big an issue since I didn’t have anything to add that wasn’t covered in my weekly reviews, but it’s really a column that’s about you more than me, so I apologize.
As far as I am concerned, though, this week I actually don’t have anything specific to focus on since the films I’m watching are for an upcoming feature article and I don’t want to comment on them too much here, but I’ll say a few words.
As Rank and File” post and I have so far watched Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. And, as a matter of fact, as I am typing this I am preparing to watch The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou for only the first time since 2005. At that time I had only seen Rushmore and snippets of Tenenbaums and wasn’t much of an Anderson fan. Since then I’ve fallen in love with Bottle Rocket and Fantastic Mr. Fox… will my experience with Life Aquatic be different this time around? After all, like Mr. Fox, it was co-written with Noah Baumbach.
