Melissa Leo (The Fighter) will join Tom Cruise in Oblivion for TRON: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski with production now underway in Baton Rouge. Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau co-star. The film is set to hit theaters on April 26, 2013. [source]
Apparently Terrence Malick gave The Weinstein Co. and John Hillcoat “permission” to change the title of The Wettest County to Lawless, which was the same title he was planning on using for his upcoming film starring Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Haley Bennett and Natalie Portman. Producer Lucy Fisher told EW the following:
We’d always wanted the title Lawless, but it was always unavailable to us. [But] Terry very graciously gave us the go-ahead to use it… Because, he said, he’s a fan of John’s. He gets a special thank you in the movie.
So there’s that. [source]
It would seem everyone but me cares way too much about the upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie as it is all anyone can gossip about as of late. “Turtles” creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman have weighed in after producer Michael Bay called the turtles “aliens” and helped calm the waters.
Then director Jonathan Liebesman took some time out of interviewing for Wrath of the Titans to tell Coming Soon and Collider everything is going to be just fine, but now a new “controversy” is afoot as they may not even be teenagers (of course they will) as the film has a new rumor says the film has a working title of Ninja Turtles. I, however, look at all of this and say, “Seriously? Do you actually care about any of this?” That’s just me though.
Now we have some trailers. First up is a bootleg version of the new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which is playing in front of The Hunger Games in theaters right now. In it you’ll see Kristen Stewart‘s eyes turn red as she is now a vampire and then she’ll hunt a deer!
Next is a second TV spot for Prometheus, which has been playing a lot during the NCAA Tournament and I keep on having to change the channel. I want to go in as fresh as possible on this one, but I already feel as if I know too much. You, however, enjoy…
And I’ll end this update with a new look at Bruce Willis as Joe Colton in G.I. Joe: Retaliation with Adrianne Palicki in the background. It would appear to be an image that goes along with this one.
