First Look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt in ‘Looper’

TriStar Pictures debuted the trailer for Looper at WonderCon earlier today and did so to a great response and they have now debuted the first official images from the film directed by Rian Johnson (Brick) featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a time-traveling hired gun working for the mob in the capacity that when they want someone killed they send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” takes care of the rest.

Gordon-Levitt (pictured above and below) plays Joe, one of these loopers, and he’s getting rich and life is good until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo and Noah Segan co-star in the film, which is set to hit theaters on September 28.

That last little bit is the reason you may think Levitt looks a little weird in the pics as he’s wearing facial makeup to look a bit more like Willis.

The teaser that premiered at WonderCon should be online in a few weeks, here are a couple of the reactions I saw on Twitter earlier today:

Looper seems like it might be a touch blade runner. Cool style, cool vibe.” ~ Robert Fure (FilmSchoolRejects)

“Just saw the trailer for [Rian Johnson’s] time travel film Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it looks AWESOME. Whoa this is going to make a splash.” ~ Alex Billington (FirstShowing)
