Monica Bellucci (The Matrix sequels) has joined the cast of Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, reports Variety.
She will play Veronica, a sorceress and the long-lost love of Nicolas Cage’s character, Balthazar Blake.
The film, which revolves around a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan, is shooting in New York City with Jon Turteltaub directing.
Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell co-star.
