First Look at Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’

What a world we live in today as we are now receiving images via Twitter from the daughter of a film’s director as today we receive our first look at Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis via the director’s daughter, Caitlin Cronenberg (via The Playlist).

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo, and follows newly married billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) as he cheats on his wife, is pursued by a stalker (Paul Giamatti), gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day. Additional members of the cast include Juliette Binoche, Mathieu Amalric, Samantha Morton, Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand and Emily Hampshire.

This, of course, is the second Cronenberg film on the horizon as his already completed A Dangerous Method starring Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August and I hope will follow that up with a screening in Toronto, where Cosmopolis just so happens to be filming at the moment.

A Dangerous Method is based on the play by Christopher Hampton, telling the story of the conflict between Sigmond Freud (Mortensen) and his pupil Carl Jung (Fassbender). Keira Knightley plays Sabina, a disturbed young woman brought to see Jung by her father after which Jung and Sabina have an affair.
