Ra’s Al Ghul Has Been Cast in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Heat Vision reports Josh Pence, the man whose face was digitally replaced by Armie Hammer’s as one-half of the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, has landed the role as Ra’s Al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

As you are all probably wondering, with Liam Neeson playing Ra’s in Batman Begins and dying at the end of the film, what does this mean for the character? Well, sources tell Heat Vision’s Borys Kit that Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story. The inclusion of Ra’s Al Ghul in the film in any sense will certainly give heat to the rumor the villain’s daughter, Thalia Al Ghul, will have an appearance in the film. Is this the role Marion Cotillard will be playing?

Plot details are still being kept quiet, though there was that one rumored storyline revealed just over a month ago.

Pence will also be sen in Peter Berg’s Battleship next May.

The Dark Knight Rises is slated to hit theaters on July 20, 2012 with shooting is expected to take place in London and Los Angeles in May. Pence joins a cast that already includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman and newcomers Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Juno Temple.
