Paramount has just released the above first look at Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld in Joel and Ethan Coen’s True Grit which co-stars Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper and Paul Rae.
The film has been described as more of an adaptation of the original Charles Portis novel than a remake of the 1969 John Wayne starrer as Bridges steps in for Wayne as the drunken U.S. marshal Rooster Cogburn whom Mattie (Steinfeld) hires to track down Tom Chaney, her father’s murderer (Josh Brolin).
Paramount is set to release the film on December 25, 2010.
