This is simply a fun movie. Don’t go in expecting anything more than the outlandish feature the trailer promises and you should be satisfied. I had a lot of fun with it and expect most people that go in expecting just that will have a similar experience.
This film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence throughout, language and smoking.
I gave it a “C+” in my review, but that grade would have probably gone at least a notch higher had this remake included the “Get him a body bag!” line from the original. Seeing those words subtitled on the screen would have brought me to my knees.
This film is rated PG for bullying, martial arts action violence and some mild language.
Absolutely solid filmmaking. While this film isn’t necessarily an upper I can’t help but see it having a little bit of genre appeal. It’s not a horror movie per se, but I can see members of the horror audience with a brain on their shoulders really getting into what is otherwise an exceptional independent drama with a couple of thrilling moments.
This film is rated R for some drug material, language and violent content.
There wasn’t a screening in my neck of the woods and early reviews have critics split down the middle. I can’t say I am necessarily interested in seeing it, but if a screening happens on the right day I wouldn’t be against giving it a shot.
This film is rated R for some strong sexuality and nudity.
