Okay, so some people seem to have taken offense to my Love Ranch starring his wife, Helen Mirren, and Joe Pesci as Grace Bontempo and Charlie Bontempo, the husband and wife team who own and run Nevada’s first legalized brothel. As I ask I run for cover from flying tomatoes!
The film is set to hit theaters on June 30 with E1 Entertainment handling domestic distribution.
E1 brought the picture to Cannes, but was unwilling to allow press in to see any of the screenings. Not only did I try, but Jeff Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere did as well and was equally denied. Wells speculated the denial of press access doesn’t bode well for the film and the same could be said for the fact it hasn’t earned a major distributor, and if you were to make that case I would have a hard time arguing.
