Martin Scorsese to Receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2010 Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press has just announced Martin Scorsese will be the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field” at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. He follows up last year’s recipient Steven Spielberg who, perhaps not so coincidentally, was presented the award by Scorsese.

Scorsese won his first Best Director Oscar in 2007, but before that won a Golden Globe for directing Gangs of New York as well as also winning a Globe for The Departed.

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 17 and hosted Ricky Gervais. The ceremony will be broadcast live coast to coast Sunday, January 17 on NBC (5 to 8 pm PT, 8 to 11 pm ET) from The Beverly Hilton. Nominations will be announced at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15.
