After tackling World War II with Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima Clint Eastwood moved farther back in time to the 1930s with Changeling and he will jump back to the future with Gran Torino with a Dirty Harry style character that no likey the neighbors. So to say I didn’t expect his next flick to be a thriller described as in the same vein as M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense would be a lie, but I am definitely intrigued.
Variety tells us the film is titled Hereafter and outside of knowing Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon and The Queen) wrote it I have nothing else for you.
Apparently the film was part of the Paramount/DreamWorks pact and when that alliance dissolved DreamWorks kept control of the property and has since been wooing Eastwood into the director’s chair with Playboy bunnies, fast cars and Geritol.
