Get Ready for 20 Minutes of ‘Fast and Furious’ Prequelizationisms

Coming Soon is reporting that Vin Diesel has directed a 20 minute prequel story to the upcoming Fast and Furious, the fourth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise. In the short “film” Diesel will star along with Michelle Rodriguez reprising her role as Letty and Sung Kang returning as Han. Rodriguez returns along with Paul Walker in the fourth film hitting theaters June 5, 2009.

CS assumes the prequel story will tie-in some of the events from the second and third movies. Rodriguez appeared in the first movie, Sung Kang in the third, and Diesel in the first with a brief cameo in the third. However, there is no telling how exactly it will be distributed. Attached to a new DVD release of the first three films would be a likely place to promote as well as a half-hour commercial filled television broadcast before or after “Heroes” on NBC? Who knows?

In the new FaF film Diesel returns as fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto, and reignites his feud with agent Brian O’Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what’s possible behind the wheel.
